Stant Corporation, the nation’s leading developer of automotive fuel systems and thermal and vapor management systems, today celebrated the grand opening of its new manufacturing facility in San Miguel, Mexico.
Joining Stant CEO Lou Braga and Stant President & COO Inacio Moriguchi were Guanajuato Governor Miguel Marquez Marquez, San Miguel Mayor Mauricio Trejo Pureco, and Secretary of Development Guillermo Romero Pacheco.
The 105,000-square-foot plant represents an approximate $5 million investment in San Miguel. Construction on the new facility began August 1, 2014 and was complete in March 2015 with start of production in January 2015.
Stant San Miguel employs 250 production associates and 27 salary staff. The new facility will manufacture a range of products within the Stant product portfolio, including: fuel caps, radiator caps, valves, thermostats, carbon canisters, capless refueling systems, fuel filler pipes, SCR caps (urea), and oil caps.
Stant selected the location of San Miguel in large part because of its close proximity to current and potential customers.
“Stant is proud to be expanding its global footprint, its customer base, its technology, and the skill sets of its workforce in the town of San Miguel,” said Inacio Moriguchi, Stant President & COO. “This world-class manufacturing facility is a key member of Stant’s global operations, showcasing modern technology that enables us to serve local and global vehicle OEMs and industrial and aftermarket customers.”
Stant has operations in the U.S., Mexico, China, Czech Republic and South Korea and currently employs nearly 1,400 people across the globe.
